ATLANTA - June 19, 2008 - Venture Atlanta 2008, the premier investor showcase for emerging technology companies in Georgia, today issued a call for presenters for its inaugural conference to be held October 15 - 16 at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta. Twenty Georgia-based companies will be selected to present their business plans and technologies to more than 100 venture capitalists and private equity investors anticipated to be in attendance.
Venture Atlanta is seeking technology or technology-enabled businesses in all stages of growth that are currently raising or looking to raise venture capital within the next 12 months. Conference chairs expect a wide array of technologies from diverse markets including: software, communications, wireless, life sciences, new media, semiconductor, transaction processing, medical device, clean technology and alternative energy.
"This event provides a great opportunity for technology companies seeking exposure to some of the nation's premier VCs, "said Brendan McGuire, a senior vice president with RBC - Bank (USA)'s Knowledge Based Industries Group and chair for the selection committee of Venture Atlanta. "Venture Atlanta will showcase and further Georgia-based innovation, helping to fuel regional economic growth now and in coming years."
Venture Atlanta 2008 is a collaboration of three of the leading business and executive organizations in the Georgia community: The Atlanta CEO Council, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). The event is expected to be one of the largest venture capital conferences in the region.
